There’s plenty of wisdom wrapped up in the simple phrase: “Roll with it” …
So many references, but the concept is the same. It’s something like, “as a situation plays out and you have little or no leverage or influence that can change the immediate outcome, go with that outcome, accept it in the present, make the best of it, don’t let the outcome — especially if it’s not what you were hoping for — don’t let it bring you down.” Go with it, roll with it.
A wrestler or Jujitsu player might take the tact, “Let your opponent expend energy and try to gain advantage, wait for your opening…”
Whether you’re rolling with someone on the mat, or just rolling through life, sometimes it’s best to go with it, roll with it.
Life can certainly present unexpected circumstances, difficulties, even tragedy. In the end, it’s up to each of us to make the best of each day. It’s up to each of us to roll with it, go with it, and make it good.
