Whoops! I let Pi Day almost slip by without comment…ALMOST, that is…
3/14 or “3.14”, what some refer to as Pi Day. One of my neighbors was a Math & Physics major in college…
And a few years back she and her wife hosted a Pi Day Party at their house —it was a mix of friends and generously, they also invited my parents, who lived here in town too.
My dad was a Math and Economics major in college, and High School Math Teacher for decades, so he seemed to get a little extra joy from the theme of the gathering too.
My brother and his wife were there too. Our family, various friends of the hosts.
It was fun.
It was also one of the last “public events” I remember my folks attending before my dad had a stroke at the end of that year, and everything changed.
So a little nod to Pi Day just passed, nod to my dad once again – Math Guy, GREAT Dad – and a little encouragement to all y’all out there to find things and reasons to get together with the people you love and celebrate whatever…celebrate life!,
You never know when it is going to change. So make the most of right now.
