Job One

As I’ve gotten older and now have more than 30 years into my career, many things are more clear about life and work.

In the end it’s the people in your life that matter most, especially children, especially if they’re *YOUR* kids.

A recent list left on my refrigerator sums it up pretty well.

It’s been a bumpy couple of weeks for my family. It’s flu and cold season underway, plus other ailments, and two of the three kids have had to stay home from school for multiple days.

Most recently it was Number Two Daughter. Stomach Flu. Pretty rough night. All night, from Midnight to dawn, pretty rough.

Had lots to do at work the next day, but it all had to wait, push back a day, to take care of my kid.

After all, helping others, especially family, especially children,

That’s Job One.
