Went to a Little League Playoff last night after work; a couple of good friends, their kid, was playing. The Yard Goats.
The Goats were down, then up big, and then lost in the last inning. Pitching sorta fell apart. I bet typical for 12 year olds; maybe 18 and 28 year olds too.
Tough lessons on the ball field for the Yard Goats. Playing in the crucible of the baseball diamond is no picnic. Glory and Struggle are there together, ebb and flow present, pronounced.
There on the ball field you learn life lessons in front of family and friends and fans from of other side.
Slow down, focus; try your best, stay humble; win or lose, embrace the effort. On the ball field. In life.
