The Power of Mantra

I was talking to someone recently about struggle and anxiety. My own. Long standing. Woven into the fabric of my psyche.

During that discussion I talked about coping and overcoming, persevering through said struggle. I mentioned prayer and meditation; I didn’t think about how mantras help me too. Words, Phrases repeated that help the mind. My mind anyway.

Here’s one. From a song, that goes sorta like a prayer, from

“40”

“I wait patently for the Lord,

He inclined and heard my cry,

He lift me up out of the pit, out of the myrrh and clay,

He put me up upon a rock and made my footsteps firm….”

Helps. Sometimes a lot. And that’s GOOD.
