American, that is. National Football League (NFL) Playoffs, that is. Was near quiet religion in my house growing up. Always on the TV this time of year to track the teams to the Super Bowl.
My family, or at least my immediate family, were San Francisco Forty-Niner fans. Growing up this was the time of the 49ers rise and glory years. Joe Montana, Ronnie Lott, Dwight Clark, Roger Craig, Fred Dean…you get the idea…
But I fell away from watching as I got older. I’ve written about it before. Just a lot of time to dedicate to “watching”…anything, really.
Now, decades later, I at least have the football games on TV, as I mullah bout, not necessarily watching intently, but following visually, with the score, the way the game is playing out.
Of course, it’s nice to have the Niners in contention…but regardless, I like having football quietly churning in the background of the weekends,
Bridging decades past to today,
GOOD.
