My dad was a numbers guy. He studied math and economics in college. He taught math for forty years.
Several of my friends are numbers guys as well. They do the math quickly, see patterns in numbers almost immediately, draw related conclusions clearly and rapidly.
I most certainly am not that way.
I see the patterns sometimes, play the operations, though slowly, conclusions come through as though through a dense fog.
Much of modern adult, human life is easier if you can play the numbers game well.
Like coming up with and managing your personal budget; like keeping track of your money; you get the idea.
Learning the basics and practicing until proficient is sound advice, advice worth heeding.
I call it a “game”, but really it’s a set of skills; a set of skills worth having.
Do the math.
