Little routines help ground us. It’s no wonder, if you think about it. After all, change is inevitable, and often disruptive. So routine equals predictable in an every-changing world.
For me at least, it follows that doing little things over and over the same way, they become sources of comfort and consistency. I like that; following little routines somehow provides part of the winning formula to cope with change successfully.
Example?
I always take my meds & vitamins to start the day; then I brush my teeth. If it’s the weekend, I dawn shorts and a hoodie; if it’s workday, it’s a short stretching / yoga session, and into the shower; and then it’s into the day and a coffee, either fresh and hot, or cold brew.
That’s it. Silly share? Maybe. But oh so true, oh so GOOD.
