I went in for MRI testing for the first time recently. Going into the procedure I had a plan to meditate a bit, reach an altered state of mind to cope with the experience.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
The testing is done by sliding the patient into a long tube, and then running various test sequences over the area of interest on the body.
It takes a while for the test to be completed. And the whole time the patient has to remain completely still. No scratching an itch; no shifting weight or limbs.
It wasn’t unbearable, but I found near the end I had to focus particularly on my breathing to help me remain in the altered state of calm in my mind.
I was glad when the testing was done, and I hope the results give some much needed answers.
Getting old sucks. : – )
