Veterans Day

A day in this country to honor all veterans who have served.

The background I didn’t know.

“A Congressional Act (52 Stat. 351; 5 U.S. Code, Sec. 87a) approved May 13, 1938, made November 11 in each year a legal holiday: “a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated and known as ‘Armistice Day'”,

And about twenty years later, American Veterans organizations lobbied the US Congress to change the name to Veterans Day, to honor all veterans,

I’m all for that. I have a few veterans in my family, active duty too, and friends as well,

And for the core goal of world peace,

For all those who have been in harm’s way to stand up to evil and protect America,

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

His son, Clement, was killed in the Korean War. These two, examples of millions of Americans who have served our nation, some like Clement, giving the ultimate sacrifice.
