Considering my thought process about things, so much time do I spend in my head, actively reflecting, mulling over, comparing and contrasting… I was thinking about how I select garments.
Yes, you heard it right, garments, clothes, pieces thereof; I think there is some broader, implications, or insight that I discern from that particular process I follow,
Especially when it comes to shirts and jackets, I often default to the larger size. I’m not a big person, probably average or a little less so from a height perspective and a little on the thick side, weight wise, so while I’m probably a large, I most often opt for extra large, XL.
This approach is especially true for clothes I order on-line. Why? Somehow it gives me a better chance of actually wearing the thing once I get it.
Because if it’s too small, too tight, it’s just going to sit on the shelf or hang in the closet. But a little too big? No problem! I like to be comfortable, and a little over-sized just means more room for me.
By extension, this mindset of “opting for more room” is applicable to time for me as well. Time as in, giving myself to complete tasks, finish a thing. The more time the better to not rush, not miss something, not make mistakes.
XL. More room? More time?
Yes, please.
