As the flurry of life activities spins up & down on repeat, time becomes all the more precious. And as a result I covet time all the more. This example highlights the sentiment pretty well.
Recently, sub-optimal planning and lack of foresight lead to my having to run errands for the better part of the day one weekend. I. San Francisco. Fifty miles from where I live.
No biggie, except that it was a weekend I had my kids at my house (reminder if you didn’t know, we have a two-house family with 50/50 custody). I lost the better part of a whole day with my kids.
The next morning, my son and I read a Dr. Seuss book in the kitchen as the day got underway. Mind you, my son is 13; but we were reminiscing about how fun that book was –
“… Look! See! I can do three!… Three… Three…!
I see. I see….” ;
so we read it again.
Through that simple act & experience, it crystallized again for me, that I covet such times with my kids especially, and I covet time more generally, wanting satisfying experiences, more moments to savor,
It’s true, it’s true, I do it too! I covet time, much more than a dime, let it rhythm, more time, more !
