Funny thing, Summer Time. As students, we’re wired to having that time off, a break…13 years we spend conditioned to this yearly pace and pattern.

I grew up in a teacher family, so that structure was all the more re-enforced. But all that said, gotta say, I think it’s also important to counterbalance,

Realize that most people work all year long; sure with some vacation, if you’re lucky (and I’m lucky), but the work year is the whole year, 12 months, so ya gotta pace…

But, fact of the matter, I’m still geared to the school year calendar, mindset such — even as my work reality isn’t — so,

Balance one of the busiest months of the work year with kids’ activities, more freedom, doing right by them, keeping the safe but also inspired, two-house family all the more challenging to keep the balls in the air but whatever, that’s the life we’re living,

Summer knocking, let the joy build, let it flourish, kids outta school, long days, vacations / adventures big, small, let’s go…!
