This refrain I return to over and over again, sweet slumber, how I long for you,
In the darkness, and cozy, finding refuge from the popurrí of purposes that plague my mind, why so befuddled?
I know the dread will pass and I will stand up straight to the day, slog through, best I can,
But secretly I long to avoid, shun the duties and the lists, and simply recline, and rest, until I can’t,
Embrace and submerge in sweet slumber, warm, safe, and cozy, and as the day fades at its end I will again, I will again.
