What’s a movie or book that inspired you to travel?

Certainly John Steinbeck’s book, “Travels With Charley” is the book that did and still does capture the longing I have for extended travel.

The romance and wanderlust comes back to me again and again.

The book is older than I am, written in the last ten years of Steinbeck’s too short life. He published it two years before he won the Nobel Prize for Literature.

I will read it over and over again, and live out a bit of it in true form before they take my driver’s license away.

Fingers crossed, that will be a long time from now; the revoked license, that is, not the open road.
