“Keep coming back, it works!” Is a common refrain in recovery programs. And it’s true for sure. Battling anything massive, it’s the resolve, the grit, that makes the difference when facing difficult challenges.
Certainly addiction is such a circumstance. But it’s not the only one.
Little kids and learning any number of lessons: riding a bike, using the potty, going to school, learning algebra, playing a sport, etc.
KEEP TRYING. DON’T GIVE UP. Failed? TRY AGAIN.
And it’s not only for kids.
Any learning situation requires this mentality, this approach. Learning requires an open mind, focus, and resolve to not let failure have the last word.
Making mistakes is part of learning; ideally, you don’t make the same mistakes repeatedly. But sometimes it will happen more than once. Even then,
Try again. Keep coming back to the effort.
You WILL get better, it WILL get easier.
