Last week after ten years (plus?), a colleague ended his tenure at my company. He was an engineer and technical manager in one of the first groups I supported. He was a big factor/contributor in the development for the product group he helped manage.
When asked, he said he was planning on taking a professional break for a bit; his two boys are both at rather pivotal transition times, and his immediate plan is to focus on them.
BRAVO.
I happened to be in the parking lot as he departed. I watched from a distance as he drove away.
I thought to myself, “Good for him, and all the best, and wishing him well…”
Go get ‘em, B.P.~
