Long Pull, Patience, Respect

I listened to an interview recently of a person who’s had a life-long stutter. I noted early on in the piece that the network, NPR, had allocated 11 minutes for the interview, instead of what seems typically a shorter period time.

Listening, I felt initially a little annoyed at the delays in the conversation, then challenged to stay with it, then blessed. I recognized the grace I was experiencing listening to this person with a stutter explain himself and his experiences honestly, candidly, completely.

Great interview, great insights, great moments of growth just…listening.

It was a little longer pull on time, and took a little more patience, and was,

GOOD.
