Everything Hurts

I recently saw a black tee-shirt on Instagram that said in big white letters, “Everything Hurts.”

Everything hurts. That’s a bit of hyperbole, but you get the idea.

As I get older it seems like the life aches and pains don’t much wane these days. Seems like the sore shoulders and creaky knees seem to hang around.

Ah Well, that’s life. Listening to the lessons and responding appropriately seem to be the best, if not easiest, response.

Slow down the sudden movements. Start up with a regular strength training regime of some type. Take up a daily stretching routine in the morning to ease into the day.

Be intentional. Be consistent. And be realistic.

Even as your body ages and changes, you can favorably mediate the effects. And things won’t hurt quite as much. At least, not everything.
