The Clown & The Cobra

Funny thing, what images stick with us, and what images creep into our sub-conscious, only to later, rather strangely appear in dreams.

Talking to my younger daughter (she’s 9) not too long ago, she mentioned a dream she had, something about a clown and a cobra.

I don’t recall the details, but I do recall thinking what an interesting g combination of thoughts came together in her subconscious to put a clown and cobra in the same dream. She didn’t like the dream much, as I recall; I suggested she just the thoughts away, let them go. After all, we have lots of thoughts, good and otherwise, so learning to handle and manage them, that’s a key life lesson.

And then there’s Dee Snyder, lead singer for the 80’s heavy metal band, Twisted Sister. He’s no cobra, but maybe some thought a little clownish with the face paint he wore when the band performed back in their hay day.

I was listening to some of their music a while back. Fun music (to me), spoke of those teen, adolescent years I was in then, and brings back some good memories. No surprise, I guess, Snyder popped into a dream I had recently.

What’s the point of all this? I think it’s just a simple lesson, take the good you can from your dreams, listen respectfully to your sub-conscious, and then get on with it.

It’s what we do with our thoughts that matters most.

Make it GOOD.
