Just started reading Rick Rubin‘s new book, “The Creative Act“. his bit on the source of creativity, brings this thought to mind, for myself in my own creative response anyway…
While I’ve been writing, all my life, most all of my adult life, anyway, I only started blogging about 10 years ago; and only in the last 2 to 3 years, have I posted some thing every day.
It was those a few years back that I decided I was just going to put out what came to mind whenever I was inspired to share… Which happens pretty regularly, sometimes multiple times a day.
And rather than worry about everything being perfect and complete, I would just put it out in the universe.
This seems to be the truest way for me to respond to the creative energy that stirs within me. Observing, considering, and sharing. Most often, nearly always it’s intended to be positive, helpful, supportive, maybe on a good day even inspiring.
And that’s the essence of my creative act, stripped down to the most basic. Thanks for listening.
[Addendum: After a mistakenly early post, I pulled this piece back to publish for Saturday, 1/6/2024. BIG thanks for the three Likes I got on Friday! : – ) ]
