Democracy Shines Across Hemispheres: Guatemala and Taiwan Demonstrate Peaceful Elections, Transfer of Power

I wrote this tagline about 24 hours before I saw the podcast at the end of this piece post on NPR…

Certainly no secret that I love NPR,

#ILoveNPR

And as a political scientist. I am delighted to see at the top line, my observation about the importance of Guatemala and Taiwan’s recent elections, highlighted, and explained by such fantastic, professional reporting,

Always insightful, and worth your time, that’s what NPR brings to the show… every day.

Even as our world seems on fire currently, with war raging in several regions of the world, millions upon millions of people displaced, tens of thousands of innocent civilians l killed, and even here in the relative calm of these United States of America, people more politically polarized than they have been, and maybe 60 years…

It is truly heartening to see elections successfully, executed, and the results there in from Guatemala and Taiwan.

I remain hopeful.

Worth a listen for sure: via NPR:
