Sometimes the best combinations get their start when things are simply thrown together. Sometimes you just don’t know what will go together.

Certainly there are times and places for well thought-through, precisely measured, exhaustively considered design, discussion, decisions are necessary. Certainly so.

As I consider things tho’, I think creativity, when we seek to ignite the spark of possibility, minimizing boundaries just might be essential. Thrown together ideas, and people, might just come up with something magical.

All you need is a seed, a starting point, to enter into the process. What then? Open the floodgates and allow the creative spirit to reign.

Throw together colors on the board, words on the page, shapes here and there, let your imagination run wild, and see what ideas bubble to the top. The creative spirit will tell you.

Building teams and relationships work similarly, I think. Pulling people together for a common goal, it’s hard to know who will gel, who will stick. Romance, and a pull to intimacy work the same. Backgrounds and personalities only tell us so much.

Allowing the creative spirit to manifest connection, and affinity grows. It’s like magic when it happens.

So don’t be afraid to throw things together. It can be fun. And magic might happen!
