Guest Post, Chris Seipert: “Reap What You Sow”

Delighted to share this guest post by former colleague and father of four / bad-ass leader / outdoor enthusiast, Chris Seipert.

I worked with him for eight years, mostly on the periphery, but always aware of his presence and his persistent attitude that excellence and common sense should reign supreme, in order to deliver an amazing customer experience.

Recently he moved on from the company we both worked for; his legacy will live on for a long while.

This following insight he recently posted via his Linkedin page is something I just had to share; I asked him, he said “yes”, so here you go,

On work, and life, and perspective. GOOD.

And thanks, Chris. YOU ROCK.

“Today, I harvested what I’ve sowed. Back in February, I decided to take a career break and I planted these peas that same week.

Taking a step back from my career and embracing the outside world and my family has been incredible.

During this time, I worked out every day, coached a high school swim team, attended numerous swim and track meets, caught up on most of my home projects, gardened, avoided junk and fast food, lost 40 lbs, read five old school sci-fi books, and reflected on what life is really about. My life has been like these peas these last 2 months, flourishing, and I would not trade it for anything.

To all my friends and family who have recently lost their jobs, take time to reflect on what really matters to you. It’s essential to take care of yourself and your loved ones. Remember, it’s okay to take a break and focus on what brings you joy and fulfillment.”

And I’d add #goodstuff #familyfirst #dadlife #dadslife #halffullallgood
