Balancing & Breaking the Fast

Different purposes for fasting, Improving one’s health, medical testing, religious observance,

Whatever the reason, it takes fortitude and resolve, steadfast commitment to the practice, lest you falter,

And then maybe one core tenet of breaking the fast, in good standing, least you tilter on the brink of despair,To show gratitude, respect, appreciation,

Such was my experience recently,

After three days on a fast, planned to break that evening,

Then a kind colleague brought me massive, yummy cheeseburger, the likes of which I’d not long seen,

And so I humbly accepted, and and thanked her profusely, and slowly, carefully, respectfully consumed said burger,

And joyously, so joyously,

GOOD.
