Daily Prompt: “How do you want to retire?”

How to retire, it’s becoming more clear,

At 69, when my youngest is 23,

With enough time to travel to the bucket list, Northern Europe, South Pacific, The Holy Land, Terra Del Fuego,

To watch a season’s worth of week-day , mid-day Giants games,

To have a meal at a Jose Andres eatery,

To fast four times in a year,

To nap most afternoons,

To write six more books,

Or none of this, really, as in the end we know not the hour or the day we’ll be called home,

I would love all these things to come to pass, but I’m content either way,

Either way, just be ready,

Be ready,
