Initiating Passion, Instilling Belief

Daily Prompt: “What makes a teacher great?”

Funny thing, I come from a family of teachers, know many as friends, was even married to one…

But my sense of what makes a teacher great comes from my experiences as a student, no surprise, I guess.

For me, my greatest teachers helped me see passion in the subject matter, and they also helped me believe in myself as thinker and a doer. They instilled confidence and resolve. They shaped who I’ve become.

What makes a teacher great? A person who knows and cares and believes, and wants to share those traits with others, who wants to make other people better.

  1. It is indeed interesting to remember that all teachers were once the ‘student’. So, when does a teacher become less than ‘great’, you might ask; Like any breathing creature, if the teacher is miserable inside, than cannot be good. Any animal or human who is hurt o in mental confusion, only projects negativity or hostility.
