Earlier this week there was a WP prompt that asked “What bothers you and why?”  I’ve got an addition.

In my work (life?) experience, it sometimes (often?) comes up, some activity needs to be completed, but there is a lag because no one has been able to (or chosen to) complete.

Whenever this situation comes up, an organizational / work maxim comes to mind,

“DUTIES AS ASSIGNED”,

It REALLY bothers me when the response from someone is, “That’s not my Job”, or “So and So should do that” , in the face of being asked to lend a hand, help, etc.

While it makes perfect sense that to allow others to “do their job / fulfill their responsibilities, sometimes for the greater good of the mission, others need to step up, step in, and support to get the work done.

Don’t shy away, lean in.
