When I was in college I took a philosophy class that among other topics, considered the ethics of euthanasia.
It was theoretical 35 years ago; it’s quite a bit more real now. Elders all around aging, their loved ones, facing those choices,
In the end I come back again and again to,
Honor their wishes if all possible,
Make them comfortable,
Don’t leave anything unsaid that should be said,
Make sure they know they are loved,
Lead with love, end with love.
Love never falls away.
Love wins.
