Happened on The Masters Sunday afternoon, round four, final; Rory McIlory in the hunt, a few other aces right around him.
Plenty to do, not optimal to sit and watch so I mulled about in chores, pausing as the last hour of shots were made,
McIlory had a shot to win, a final put on 18 and missed, went to shootout, with veteran Justin Rose,
And McIlroy won on the next hole.
Saw a post on social media that summed it up:
“It’s an axiom of golf that the hardest of all shots to execute is a short putt to win by one stroke.”
Now McIltoy joins a handful of other legends of game who have won all four Grand Slam tournaments: The Open; the PGA Championship; the US Open; and The Masters.
Steadfastness and resolve on display like not often witnessed in such a public way.
INSPIRED.
And Bravo, Rory!
