Unexpected situation, thick traffic, jam, driving into San Francisco, Sunday morning, Bay To Breakers race and long, city spectacle is in the way.
Thus a detour, and then the unexpected adventure ensues…

A three hour trip and visit to see my auntie likely turn to six hours plus…
Reflecting back a couple days, I watched the movie, “the Martian“, the other night. One of the sections of that story is when Whatney has to drive from the base where he was marooned across land to get to a different rendezvous point to be rescued. That sequence in the story, and really much of the rest of the story, is how his character endured, and ultimately was rescued, and thus survived. But endure, he had to.
Sitting in a traffic jam on a San Francisco St. late morning, Sunday, it’s sort of is a micro test of the same endurance.
Not much you can do when you’re stuck with a bunch of other cards, and no way out, only to endure, to creep forward, and let things unfold.
