Surface Tension

I first learned about this concept 20 years back in the oil & gas industry; I’m not a science guy but enjoyed the learning; the basic description centered on the interface between oil & water in the reservoir. And a thousand related factors and formulas. Cool.

When I think about that term in a broader sense and run through the Jeff Filter, I see other areas where the concept can be applied…

Mostly with my competing emotions, life circumstances, and how I fit into the whole mix … how I manage the whole mix … hell, how I cope with the whole mix,

Parenting (and Co-parenting),

Elders support,

Death of a parent,

Work life pressures, demands,

And certainly the mundane,

Dishes, laundry, cleaning the bathroom, cleaning the house, cleaning myself(!),

Certainly I understand that everyone deals with at least some of these,

[I frequently return to places where people communities are living in crisis, war zones, where children are dying of malnutrition, military, violence, etc., places like Gaza, Ukraine, Myanmar, Iraq, Afghanistan… and the list goes on — considering the extremes helps me temper] but,

It can all be overwhelming for some reason, my ego and esteem vacillating between solid & sure, to otherwise,

It’s the otherwise in the surface tension that gets me, it’s the otherwise that I’m trying to manage, stay on the surface and “better” side, and not break through,

Maintain that surface tension, maintain, maintain,

GOOD.
