Watching Game 1 of the Seattle Mariners v. Toronto Blue Jays American League Championship Series, first pitch by the Mariner pitcher saw the lead-off Blue Jays batter hit the ball out of the park, center right field. Something like 385 feet traveled.
In an instant you saw two extremes. The absolute fire of the Toronto team as the cheered on their player; and the no-nonsense reaction of the pitcher, standing alone on the mound as he watched the ball sail over the fence, and the runner round the bases.
So important to feel it all, and learn both lessons at once:
Celebrate the moment!, but also,
Don’t let a mistake or bad incident dominate you or dictate your next action in a negative fashion.
Two extremes. Be ready for them both.
