50/50 could refer to many things divided equally:

a pizza,

an evenly matched contest between two teams,

or how child custody is set when both parents are allotted the same amount of child care time in a divorce agreement.

It’s that last one on my mind a lot these last five years, since our kids mom and I split up.

Three children, to be exact. ALL school-age to be exact; elementary level when the divorce went down; now we are quickly into adolescence. As it was at the beginning so it remains, my desire to spend as much time engaged with them as I can when they are at my house.

I don’t do a good job sometimes, but that’s my mindset. They are the focus of my time and efforts when they are here.

After all, it’s only 50 percent of the time. Gotta make the most of it before SNAP!, and they’re adults, and they are out the door.
