All Hallow’s Eve,

Who are these saints? What did they do? And just what is a saint?

The Catholic Church can tell you all about the process, how one “becomes” a saint, the criteria, the boxes that need to be checked.

For me it comes down to this,

A follower of Jesus, a follower of his teaching, a person whose actions mirror Jesus’ teachings, and someone through whom mysteriously and miraculously God acted to change lives,

The list of saints is long, names spanning the whole of history since Jesus was here with us,

We are all sinners, and we can all strive as the saints did too, as Paul wrote to the Colossians,

“Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience,”

Striving, just striving,

Most every hour of every day.
