One of the things I do, I belong to a local lions club.

The Lions are an international service organization, more than 1 million people, and more than 200 countries, more than 46,000 clubs around the world, small groups of people, intent on helping others.

Right about now as this post publishes, we are in the middle of our annual Thanksgiving food drive, a modest effort, born over more than 40 years, to help those people in our community that otherwise might not have a Thanksgiving meal.

We feed about 1, 000 people with food boxes, made from donated food and cash donations to purchase the rest, distributed through schools to the most needy folks,

Really, it’s the best thing we do, helping others,

Lions…we serve.
