My own sort of self examination happens here, not quite as Ignatius laid it out thus,

The Examen, twice-daily pause and consideration of God in your life, as he laid out,

“One might review the ways God has been present through one to others, And to oneself through others, And how one has responded, And to proceed with one’s day with gratitude, And more aware of the presence of God in one’s life.”

Similar though different I think, in my soul cave – most often in the dark with my eyes closed, drawn deep into self,

I think about my struggles and failures and where they come from and how I can overcome them to be closer to God, more listening for the Divine Muse…
