A good friend from college, he’s a mechanical engineer become aerospace manager, has spent the vast majority of his more than 30 years working in sector, and in particular, NASA projects,
And in particular, lunar missions preparation, and in particular particular, the Artemis missions,
And so he finds himself with his team at Mission Control these past several days monitoring and studying and discussing and considering this current history making return to orbit the moon, with more to come, more to come,
And I find myself sitting in lawn chair on my street sidewalk in the shadows, waiting for the moon to crest above the buildings and trees darkened on the horizon, waiting to feel just a little closer to it all for a few minutes,
Then to slumber, per chance to dream, dream of the cosmos, and my place therein,
Artemis II, making me feel a little closer somehow, to what? I don’t know, but a little closer, a little closer.
