Just the title of this piece in the New York Times got me. Even before reading it I knew I had to spin it in my own way,
E Pluribus Unum , “Out of many, one”,
On the seal of our country these United States of America for more than 200 years,
“E Pluribus Algae”, a play on the current state of the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall in Washington DC.,
Since being drained, and re-surfaced on the bottom, then refilled, an algae bloom has taken over,
Nature’s way of saying, “…Silly humans, do what what you want, we’ll own the day in the end…”,
Such is democracy I hope and believe, as these United States of America celebrate 250 years since the founding, as bigotry and authoritarian and extreme division seem to reign,
Let’s believe these clouded, murky times will pass and our democracy will prevail, let’s believe the pieces will all work together again,
Happy Birthday, América ~ 🎉🇺🇸🎇
