Somehow I knew this thing, drawn to it, all things Ignatius,

Didn’t know his name when I started, only heard the word “Jesuit”, not knowing what it was about,

And then the learning and discerning began, and now it all feels woven into me, my secular, struggling, spiritual self, surely it’s still a part of me,

God in all things,

The Examen, The Spiritual Exercises,

Faith exercised through justice, effort, belief,

Mercy, Forgiveness, Love,

Dialogue, Inclusiveness, Tolerance,

What Would Jesus Do?

Keep asking that question, what would Jesus do?

Ignatius’ beautiful Suscipe captures the mindset pretty well:

“Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty,
my memory, my understanding,
and my entire will,
All I have and call my own.

You have given all to me.
To you, Lord, I return it.

Everything is yours; do with it what you will.
Give me only your love and your grace,
that is enough for me.”

On this Feast Day of Ignatius, remembering, keep asking, keep asking.
