There are a lot of sounds I like; they make me happy; I can’t really explain why.

Sounds like…

The ice maker dropping ice;

The neighbor’s car starting in the pre-dawn hours;

The heater running in the garage;

The kids’ quieting down to a whisper;

The rattle of scooping whole coffee beans into the grinder;

The start of the Up First podcast on NPR;

My son’s breathing as he goes to sleep;

The hall wall-heater clicking on;

The beginning of Baba O’Riley. Well, the whole song, actually.
