Nine Eleven

Forever burned in the American Conscious, twenty five years ago, nine eleven.

Three lessons maybe I took away from that infamous day.

One, America is not a fortress; it is vulnerable. Right here at home on our own soil.

Two, America’s actions around the world are not always welcome. In fact, there are adversaries who want to see people in America die, who want to see America destroyed.

Three, America is resilient. Two hundred and fifty years and counting, our society and our people — ALL our people — continue on; we persevere; we come together; we stand for the values that make this American Experiment worthwhile.

Sixty years earlier was the day “that will live in infamy”, as Franklin Roosevelt said after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, in 1941.

On Nine Eleven, 2001, America got a fresh wake up call. Attacks in three cities in the continental United States killed more than 3,000 people; those attacks changed this country forever.

And we’ve been living with the consequences ever sense.

We must never forget, we must learn the lessons, we must go forward TOGETHER, E pluribus unum,

Out of many, one,

GOOD.
